Hawzah News Agency-The calligraphy is on display from November 21 until December 3, 2016, at Promenade Garden in Oman Avenues Mall and can be viewed any time during the opening hours of the Mall.
The collections are from Rampur Raza Library in India. Over 40 pieces of calligraphic artwork artistically inscribed with selected verses from the Holy Quran, have been showcased in the exhibition.
Among the rare calligraphic manuscripts exhibited are, a folio from a 7th century Holy Quran in Kufic script attributed to Hazrat Ali (R.A.), a folio from 8th century Quran in Kufic script attributed to Imam Jafar al-Sadiq, a 16th century Holy Quran decorated with gold on the orders of Mughal Emperor Akbar and 12th-18th century manuscript folio written within gold floral jidwal.
The Rampur Raza Library is a treasure house of Indo Islamic learning and arts which was set up by the Rampur State which was founded by Nawab Faizullah Khan in 1774.
