Shia Scholars Denied Entry into Pakistan's Khanewal District

Entry of many Shia scholars in Khanewal district was banned as biased administrative machinery of Punjab province wrongfully equated peaceful and law-abiding non-controversial Shia religious scholars with the notorious Takfiri Deobandi thugs of proscribed ASWJ (Sipah-e-Sahaba), mother organization of ferocious terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

Hawzah News Agency-District Coordination Officer of Khanewal District has issued an order to ban entry into and stay in Khanewal district of 48 persons including Allama Sajid Naqvi, Allama Nasir Abbas, Allama Amin Shaheedi, Allama Taqi Naqvi, Allama Abdul Jalil Naqvi, Iqtidar Hussain Naqvi, Allama Gulfam Hashmi and Zakir and poet Shaukat Raza Shaukat and Noha Khwan Irfan Haider. The Shia religious scholars are neither terrorist nor controversial.

Entry and stay of Ahmed Ludhianvi, Aurangzeb Farooqi, Alam Tariq, Masoodur Rehman Usmani, Masroor Nawaz son of Haq Nawaz Jhangvi, Rehan Mehmood son of Ziaur Rehman Farooqi, Shabbir Usmani, Noman Zia Farooqi, and some other hate-mongering officials of proscribed Takfiri Deobandi terrorist outfit ASWJ was also banned.

These thugs are known for provocative hate-speeches aimed at inciting people to assassinate Sunni and Shia Muslims and non-Muslim minorities. Since the inception of their outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba (now called ASWJ), security during Muharam remained disturbed and suicide bombings and firing incidents at the Muharam rallies and congregations are claimed by their offshoots in all over Pakistan.

Shia Muslims have expressed dismay over the biased and discriminatory policy of PMLN government and its administrative machinery including police and district administration. They demanded there must be no ban on any qualified Shia religious scholar.

End.
