Hawzah News Agency - The director of the Qom Islamic Seminary’s Supreme Council plans to pay a visit to Georgia this week.
Ayatollah Morteza Moqtadayi’s visit will come at the invitation of the Caucasian country’s head of State Agency for Religious Issues.
Ayatollah Moqtadayi will be in Georgia on Thursday to Saturday, January 28-30.
Meeting with Muslim scholars of Georgia and discussing religious and scholarly cooperation are among the objectives of the visit.
Muslims are estimated to constitute from some 10 percent of Georgia’s total population.
The ethnic Georgian Muslims are concentrated in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara of Georgia bordering Turkey.
