Iranian scholar: Paris attacks possibly a new 9/11

Hawzah news agency - Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Taqi Rahbar referred to the deadly terrorist attacks which occurred in Paris on Friday night, stressing that we, as Muslims and free people, reject and condemn all acts of terrorism and crimes that occur anywhere in the world, reported Rasa.

The temporary Friday prayer leader of Esfahan added that it is possible that a number of deceived people sought to launch a terrorist attack in France but it is also likely that this event was a new September 11.

“The September 11 attacks were an uncertain event that was not well understood,” he said, adding:

“Even some groups have suggested that there was no investigation in regard to this incident and after so many years is still not clear what indeed occurred. They have brought these arguments as proof that this incident was fabricated.”

He said that the fire from the wars that the West has launched in the Middle East and their exploitation of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group to kill innocent people throughout the Islamic world has now led to acts of terrorism being launched against them at home.

“Nonetheless, the acts of terrorism that ISIL has unleashed are efforts aimed at distorting and defaming Islam in the hearts of people around the world and to instigate a crusade led by non-Muslims against Muslims. The West has created these terrorist attacks in order to exploit them,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam Rahbar emphasized that these criminal actions are condemnable, explaining that ISIL’s actions are aimed at undermining and damaging Islam. We know that Islam is a religion of mercy, forgiveness and kindness and the issue of terrorism and violence have no relation to the religion.

He added that the fact that this scheme was launched by the House of Saud and Takfiri groups to create conflict among Muslims in order to undermine and create pressure on them as an excuse to retaliate against Islamic countries is clear.

Hujjat al-Islam Rahbar added that the arrogant powers, Zionists and Arab reactionaries have realized they haven’t been able to achieve their goals in Iraq, Syria and Yemen so perhaps they sought to create a scenario which will permit them to launch further attacks against Islam and Islamic countries.
