Qom, Iran — On the afternoon of Ashura, Karbala expatriates residing in Qom staged the traditional “burning tent” ritual of the Tawīrīj delegation at the entrance to Prophet  Muhammad Boulevard. Participants set alight a replica of the Umayyad governor’s tent—symbolizing the rejection of Yazid’s authority—and then processed through the boulevard amid chants of mourning and remembrance.
