Muslim community calls for 'racist' policeman to be sacked

An independent commission found the senior constable and his colleague engaged in serious misconduct after pulling over the driver and her stepmother during a traffic stop.

Hawzah News Agency - Muslim campaigners have called for a police officer to be sacked after shameful footage of a traffic stop exposed him racially abusing two women wearing hijabs.

An independent commission found the senior constable and his colleague engaged in serious misconduct after pulling over the driver and her stepmother during a traffic stop.

The constable could also be heard in body camera footage during the incident in Parramatta on April 20 threatening to arrest the driver as an 'accessory to murder'.

The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils has already spoken out against the 'appalling' conduct revealed by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC).

A campaign has now called for the constable to be removed from his position, with the community organising a 'peaceful protest' at Parramatta Park at 2pm on Saturday.
