The international conference "Islamic Studies in the Modern and Postmodern World" will be held at Maulana University, New Delhi, with the presence of prominent figures from India.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Yahya Jahangiri, in an interview with Hawzah News correspondent, stated that Islamic studies have a history which dates back to the advent of Islam, and stated,” After the emergence of Islam, Islamic thinkers in various fields such as history, theology, hadith and various sectors did research and these studies were seriously established since the fourth century After Hijra.”

He further stated that he will give a speech on the topic of "Challenges of Islamic Studies in the Modern World" in this conference, and added,” Islamic studies have been conducted in various branches, but what is the difference between Islamic studies in the modern era and classical Islamic studies , is that in the classical Islamic studies that were formed in the East by Islamic scholars, they dealt with issues with theological origin, but the modern Islamic studies that were formed in the Western world, were Islamic scholars who were not Muslims themselves, and were more concerned with human issues including environmental issues, they dealt with peace rather than theological issues.”

The head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization in Qom continued,” In modern Islamic studies that were conducted by people who do not believe in Islamic teachings, the results of these studies and scientific researches in the field of Islamic sciences may be different, but in classical Islamic studies conducted by researchers who believe in Islamic teachings, as a result, their goal was to make the society believe and expand faith, while the unbelieving researcher did not necessarily contribute to this goal, but on the contrary, in some cases, they entered these studies with the aim of undermining faith.”

At the end, Hujjat al-Islam Jahangiri stated that due to his missionary trip to Turkey, he will present his article online in this conference and said,” In the conference, we will discuss this issue that despite the difference between these two studies, if classical Islamic studies wants to solve the problem of contemporary man, how should it deal with these issues.”

It should be noted that the international conference "Islamic Studies in the Modern and Postmodern World" is currently being held at Maulana University in New Delhi with the presence of prominent Indian thinkers and will continue until Wednesday, February 28.
