The head of the Islamic Union of African Students in Iran said,” Hijab, which is free for Muslims even in the occupied territories and the United States, is absolutely prohibited in Azerbaijan, and even women must be without hijab to get their birth certificates and passports. In the last two years, more than 5,000 men and women have been imprisoned for the crime of being Shiites, and there is no information regarding many of them.”

Hawzah News Agency- the commemoration ceremony of Martyr Haj Tale Yousof, the comrade of Major General Haj Qassim Soleimani, was held on Monday, April 29 in the presence of the families of the martyrs, the youth of the Islamic world and the Axis of Resistance, the students of the seminaries and the people, in the mosque of the Masumieh seminary school in Qom.

At the beginning of this ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Bah, the head of the Islamic Union of African Students in Iran, delivered a speech saying, “I welcome all of you, dear guests, we gather here today to commemorate a man who was martyred in the prisons of Azerbaijan for the crime of supporting the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH); five thousand people of Azerbaijan are imprisoned in the republic of Azerbaijan only for the crime of being Shiites.”

He added,” The relationship between the Zionist regime and the government of Azerbaijan is cordial, and in 1993, the occupying regime's embassy was officially established in Baku. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, almost 90% of the population of Azerbaijan were Shiites and were fascinated by the Iranian Islamic Revolution.”

The head of the Islamic Union of African Students further noted that realizing this potential, Israel turned to suppressing the Shiites and narrowed the field for them in such a way that more than 4 million of Azerbaijan's population of 10 million migrated to Russia, Turkey and other countries. The absolute prohibition of hijab and mourning for Sayyed al-Shahada (PBUH) were among these discriminations.”

Mourning for Imam Hussein, in addition to arrest, will be punished by a fine of nearly 2 thousand dollars. In recent years, Seyyedeh Shahla Farajava was insulted, arrested, fined and tortured many times for the crime of holding religious ceremonies and carrying the flag of Imam Hossein (PBUH) over her house, and now she has become a symbol of Shia struggle in Azerbaijan.”

Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Bah said,” Hijab, which is free for Muslims even in the occupied territories and the United States, is absolutely prohibited in Azerbaijan, and even women must be without hijab in order to get their birth certificates and passports. In the last two years, more than 5,000 men and women have been imprisoned for the crime of being Shiites, and there is no information regarding their situation.”
