Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said blockade and military attacks will not solve the Yemeni crisis.

Hawzah News Agency –In response to reporters' questions about recent developments in Yemen, Khatibzadeh said Siege and military strikes are not the solution to the Yemeni crisis, and such actions will increase tensions in the region.

Iran has always supported the initiative of a political solution based on ending the siege on the Yemenis, ending the war, non-interference in the internal affairs of Yemen and maintaining its territorial integrity, he added.

Tehran has emphasizes preventing the escalation of the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, he noted.

Commenting on escalation of tensions in the region, Khatibzadeh said: “Iran has always stressed the fact that the solution to any of the regional crises is not resorting to war and violence, and only in a peaceful atmosphere and free from tension and violence, we can hopeful about establishing peace and stability in the region.

Emphasizing that the Yemeni issue is a Yemeni affair, he expressed Iran readiness to participate in any initiative that would end the seven-year war in Yemen.
