Imam Hussein (AS) culture to be revived by supporting the needy: AQR chief custodian

Speaking in a special traditional ritual known as permission for mourning held in Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s Enghelab courtyard, Marvi referred to this year’s public discomfort because of the pandemic restrictions, saying: “These restrictions have added to the sorrow of people and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt; however, these mourning ceremonies have to be held with full awareness and observance of health protocols”.

Hawzah News Agency (Mashhad - Iran) - Astan Quds Razavi will revive the culture of Imam Hussein (AS) by implementing generous service campaign and supporting poor people all around the country during this year’s Muharram month, says Hoj. Ahmad Marvi chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi.

Hoj. Marvi referred to a tradition by Imam Hussein (AS) saying “People’s need to you is a blessing of God” and said: “By conducting national campaign of generous service, we will show another aspect of Ashura and school of Imam Hussein (AS) this year. Many respectable families who have never demanded for something in the past are now in real need because of coronavirus-related economic problems, so we will revive culture of Imam Hussein (AS) by giving service to these people”.

Marvi added: “Supporting needy people was one of the major aspects of Imam Hussein’s (AS) school of thought. When a poor man entered Medina, he was directed to the home of Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS); there was no poor man receiving nothing from them then”.

Addressing religious groups all over the country, AQR chief custodian said: “Religious groups are not able to have their donations as before, but the way of donation is not closed. The religious groups can distribute this year’s donations in the form of hygiene packages and raw food items”.

Introducing Islam as religion of faith and wisdom, AQR chief custodian called for full observance of health protocols alongside with special feelings and passion of Muharram. “We must not provide the malicious enemies with a chance to create dichotomy between religion and rationality”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hoj. Marvi said: “Ashura was not a bitter tragedy in history; rather it is an alive, eternal, inspiring and guiding movement for all right seekers all over the history”.

He stressed: “Ashura is a unique compass and model for all fighters and all who seek truth, freedom and human dignity”.

Ahmad Marvi gave significance to the responsibility of all admirers and devotees of Imam Hussein (AS) in maintaining great and enormous heritage of Ashura. “Eradicating ignorance, identifying foes properly, having courage in making hard decisions, fighting oppression, and exercising resistance against tyrannies are pivotal messages of Imam Hussein’s (AS) move”.

Marvi also added: “All religious and mourning groups of Imam Hussein (AS) have to have both passion of mourning and insight in their activities”.

Concluding his remarks, Hoj. Marvi said: “Imam Hussein (AS) started his move to command people for enjoining good and forbidding wrong and what evil is worse than replacement of an ignorance-based and Omavid Islam with Islam of the Prophet (pbuh) and his family. Imam Hussein (AS) rose to fight against this evil replacement”.

AQR chief custodian introduced correction of thoughts of society and false beliefs of people as main goals behind Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising and stated that the Imam rose to save people from ignorance and confusion which had deviated Islam.
