Hawzah News Agency- Speech of Sheikh Husain AlDaihi, Deputy Secretary General of Alwefaq Society of Al-Bahrain about releasing political prisoners from Bahraini prisons in the current crisis:

In the name of Allah the most companionate, the merciful
Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds
And peace and blessings be upon the last of the Prophets and messengers, Mohammad, and his pure progeny
Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you, dear beloved ones,
While I am addressing you, I ask God Almighty that you enjoy full health and wellness
And that God takes all evil and calamity away from you
And that He guards you with His eyes that never sleep
He is over all things
I seize this opportunity, dear friends, to discuss with you the issue of our beloved detainees; our brothers, our sons, our leaders, our symbols and scholars behind the bars
Dear beloved ones
Those people have been suffering for many years
Dear beloved ones
You and we passing by this situation
Which the Islamic nation suffers from and also the entire world
We have a simple capacity to cope with this epidemic
That has spread across the world
With simple capabilities
Everyone is screaming and suffering
In this case, what the condition of our beloved ones would be like in the prisons?!
And you all know the conditions of the prisons
It is obvious to you, dear loved ones
Those thousands of Bahrainis are held in prisons
Who are political prisoners
They endure miserable conditions
Tough situations
Harsh circumstances
Due to the insanitary environment of the prisons, which we all know
Disease outbreaks
Unhygienic condition
Insufficient services
All of these will continue to ravage our loved ones if this epidemic reaches the prisons
Amid this tragic situation, our loved ones are enduring
If this epidemic reaches the prisons and some of the prisoners get infected
Imagine how the condition of our loved ones would be at that moment?!
What would happen in this case?
Amid the exceptionally difficult global conditions
And taking into consideration our local conditions
The status quo of this prison
The country's prisons, Bahrain's prisons
A humanitarian call has been announced
A sincere call
From an honest man
A compassionate man
A lover of his homeland, his land, his people and their goodness
A man who constantly advocates its prosperity
Who is Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim
When he has called yesterday for the release of all prisoners
From a clear and frank humanitarian premise
For no other reason than to save these lives, as God forbid, if the calamity occurs, there would be a catastrophe
Great affliction will befall upon our beloved, and also upon the entire country
And there would be grave consequences
This man, through his humanitarian call
Through his compassionate call
He has not been threatening as some people may claim
Today I have read some tweets and some articles
That Ayatollah Qasim's [rhetoric] is threatening
Sheikh Issa Qasim does not threaten
He has never threatened anyone
This man is devoted and compassionate upon his homeland
He advocates the rights of this country and the citizen
He has never threatened and would never threaten
His call is humane, warm
He has just warned from a disaster to prevent the occurrence of a tragedy
And based on the foregoing of His Eminence, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassem's humanitarian call
Which, as I have emphasised, intends to protect the country and the safety of its detainees
We affirm that we wholeheartedly adopt this call
For the sake of saving our loved ones detainees
Particularly as this pandemic has swept the entire world
And which threatens the global health security
How the situation in prisons would be?
How and our brothers and our loved ones in prisons are already suffering?
Yes
And the [Bahraini] regime of Bahrain must learn from the experiences of others
From the experiences of some states
Those which have taken such measures
It is not a shame
Do not listen to dissonant voices
Many states have taken these measures to avoid difficult prospects if the new Corona Virus reaches the prisons
As many countries have done
Look at many countries: Italy, Iraq, Ethiopia, Sudan, Iran, and other countries
Many states have released their detainees, many detainees, fearing that they will be in

fected by this pandemic and there would be a catastrophe
[This] warning is by a [patriot]
By a sincere man
He is the Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassim
We adopt this warning
We call upon everyone, all loyal people, and all the compassionate people of this country to respond favourably to this call
To encourage its implementation and to release our brothers and loved ones from the prisons
May God assist our prisoners and our beloved ones
And we would always and forever defend them and their natural right for freedom
May God protect Bahrain and its people from all evils
God guards you with His eyes that never sleep
May God’s peace, mercy and blessings be upon you
