Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - A memorial service will be held for prominent Iranian Quran master Seyed Mehdi Fatemian who died on Thursday.
The Noor Mosque in Tehran will host the event on Sunday, which marks the 30th day of the lunar Hijri month of Safar, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (as), the 8th Shia Imam.
Fatemian, aged 73, died at a hospital in Tehran on Thursday after a long battle with illness.
His funeral was held on Friday with the participation of members of Iran’s Quranci community.
Born in 1944, Fatemian learned the entire Quran by heart at the age of 23.
He came third in the memorization category of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international Quran competition in 1984.
As a Quran master, he trained many Quran memorizers and memorization experts in the past few years.
