Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iraq) - Hujjatul-Islam Ammar Al-Hakim, the Head of Iraq's Shiite National Alliance, and key members of the alliance met with the honorable Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, this morning, December 11, 2016.
In this meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed contentment over the formation of an alliance among Iraqi Shiite groups, termed it as a crucial incident and stressed on the necessity of preserving and consolidating the columns of this unity, welcoming and embracing all [political] currents, ethnic and religious groups in Iraq.
The Leader of the Revolution conveyed felicitations on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and Imam Ja’far al-Sadeq (as), and congratulated the Iraqi visitors on victories gained in Mosul.
In this regard, his Eminence described the responsibilities of the chairmen and key members, as well as all currents within the alliance as very important, considering any kind of decision and measures taken by them as “very influential on Iraq, the region, and Islam.”
He further stated: “Achieving the valuable goals set by the National Alliance is only possible through preserving unity and harmony; hence, the issue of maintaining unity should be given care.”
Ayatollah Khamenei designated one of the very important duties of the National Alliance as supporting the ruling government in Iraq.
The Leader expressed contentment upon Mr. Al-Abadi’s measures in accompanying the People’s Mobilization Forces (Al-Hashd Al-Sha'abi), and stressed that: “Al-Hashd Al-Sha'abi or the Popular Forces are a great wealth, a major resource for today and the future of Iraq, they should be supported and consolidated.”
Ayatollah Khamenei’s other important recommendation for the National Shiite Alliance of Iraq was: “Do not trust the Americans at all.” His Eminence said, in this regard, that: “The U.S. is always in opposition when Islamic countries like Iraq gain power; one should never be deceived by their affectation and smirks.”
On the issue of distrusting the United States, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out, “Despite their pretentious claims, they are not after eradication of the takfiri terrorists at all; in fact, they try to use these terrorists for their own future goals.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said, “Now in Mosul [Iraq] and also in Syria, the U.S. has no interest in completely defeating the takfirist.”
