Hujjat al-Islam Moballeqi

The second international conference on Islam and humanitarian law announced that the conference will take place on December 7-8 in the Iranian city of Qom. The scientific secretary of the conference said holding such conferences helps change the world's attitude towards Islam and Shia jurisprudence.

 

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran)- The organizers of the conference held a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, a senior Shia source of emulation, during which Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Moballeqi presented a report on the recent activities of the secretariat of the conference asserting, "The second international conference on Islam and Human Rights will be held on December 7-8 this year in the holy city of Qom, Iran."

 

 Announcing that tens of scholars and researchers from as many as twenty countries are going to attend the event, he added," This conference is going to be held with the cooperation of the International Committee of the Red Cross along with the Iranian Red Crescent Organization; Some other educational and research institutes of the Islamic seminaries are also involved in the process of organizing the event."

 

The main topics of the conference will be the shared moral virtues and principles of religions and their impact on humanitarian attitude, people and places protected during armed conflicts, preserving the environment and natural resources, etc.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Moballeqi, the scientific secretariat of the conference, reiterated that holding such conferences helps change the world's attitude towards Islam and Shia jurisprudence adding, "We need to introduce the world to the rich literature of Shia jurisprudence regarding issues of human rights and what better place to do so than in such international conferences that provide a great opportunity to discuss such crucial topics with the whole world."
