Stating that attending media activities are in the nature of Islamic Seminaries' cause, Ayatollah Arafi added, "Islamic seminaries support the free flow of authentic news in society,"

Hawzah News Agency-Speaking at a press conference held in Tehran's International Media Expo on Tuesday, November 8, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Head of the Iranian seminaries asserted, "Throughout the history, the Islamic seminaries have had a close relationship with the media, it is in their very nature to interact with societies and deliver messages and sermons to the people, therefore media and seminaries are closely connected,"

 

Head of the Iranian seminaries added, "The world needs to strengthen the flow of information among different nations, particularly the oppressed groups; up to this point in history, the hegemonic powers have been controlling world's media networks and its flow of information,"

 

"The international community is in great need of Islamic seminaries' achievements and teachings,"

 

Ayatollah Arafi further reiterated that the enemies of Islam have increased their efforts in the cyber space, "In order to fight our enemies' threats we must develop our media networks."

 

Speaking on the Islamic seminaries' future strategies, the senior Shia cleric asserted that establishing global satellite channels has been predicted in the seminaries' comprehensive plan for media activities which is currently being drafted.

 

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Arafi went on to speak on Arbaeen pilgrimage and the necessary measures  regarding its rituals, stating," We must make a sincere effort to publicize this great tragedy and to introduce Imam Hussain's (as) teachings to the whole world, we also need to observe the unity  of Islamic Ummah while performing Arbaeen rituals,"

 

Asserting that the message of Imam Hussain's (as) movement is a global one, he concluded, "One of the major issues presented by Ashura movement is to stand against oppression and oppressor front,"
