Shia-Sunni march in Kashmir for unity and freedom

Hurriyat Conference leader Masroor Abbas Ansari led Hundreds of members of Sunni and Shia communities marching through the interiors of Zadibal in old Srinagar on Friday.

Hawzah News Agency- Hundreds of members of Sunni and Shia communities marched together through the interiors of Zadibal in old Srinagar on Friday. Hurriyat Conference leader Masroor Abbas Ansari led the rally while many respected personalities of both sects addressed the participants.

The rally started soon after congregational Friday prayers ended in Zadibal and adjoining areas. “The rally holds significance in view of the current uprising,” a participant in the rally said. “Many such rallies were held in the past 84 days,” he added.

The rally started from Sazgari Pora and Masroor Abbas addressed it at Baba Mazaar, reports said.

“The freedom rally doesn’t belong to a particular sect,” Masroor said. “Every people from every sect and region are seeking right to self-determination.”

According to reports, people in the unity procession raising pro-freedom slogans marched through interiors of Zadibal in Srinagar.

Notably, government disallowed mandatory congregational Friday prayers in historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar today for twelfth consecutive Friday as curfew has been imposed in several areas of the summer capital in view of the Lal Chowk ‘Chalo’ call by the resistance leadership.
