Hawzah News Agency- At a meeting with the organizers of 'Shell of Kawthar' conference, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said," Conducting conferences and ceremonies to pay tribute to the great Islamic figures is worthwhile and of high importance,"

"Conducting conferences such as this one which is aimed at honoring the great Lady Khadija causes the younger and the less-informed to get to know this noble lady, it can also serve as a motivation for the writers and filmmakers to produce books and movies regarding her eminence's wonderful life," he added.

"This is the least we can do to honor those self-less and influential Islamic figures, we gather here to pay respect to their dignity and glorify them; as a matter of fact, Lady Khadija (PBUH) bore some unique attributes that were not so common in the Holy Prophet's other wives," Hawzah reported.

The revered source of emulation further stated, "Lady Khadija was the first Muslim and she also devoted all her life and wealth to the Prophet,"

The Grand Ayatollah then touched on the secondary advantages of holding such conferences and added, "The issue of women's high status in Muslim society and the respect they receive has to be considered; during the darkest times of ignorance when women were regarded as a thing and not a human being, Lady Khadija (PBUH) was highly respected and cared for by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),"

Addressing the organizers of the event, Ayatollah Makarem added, "Paying tribute to Lady Khadija (PBUH) as well as spreading the news on holding such conferences is what fulfills all the efforts done by the organizers of this great event, you must also engage in publishing positive news with respect to this conference and try to familiarize the public with this great lady,"

End.
