'Racially aggravated' incident at Bristol mosque sees car attacked with metal pole

In a "racially aggravated" incident near the Easton Jamia Mosque a man was threatened with a metal bar.

Hawzah News Agency (Bristol, UK) - The 45-year-old victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, parked next to the mosque on March 27 and was approached by two men asking for change.

When he said he was unable to help and got into his car, one of the men struck the vehicle with a metal bar, causing a dent in the driver's side rear door.

"While I was driving off, they followed me with an iron bar," the man said.

"I felt threatened and fearful for my safety.

"One of them hit my car with the bar and was shouting at me to get down."

Fearing for his safety, the man began filming the incident and the two suspects then cycled off towards IKEA.

The victim said he had been left "shaken" by the ordeal.

"I never expected this happen to me," he said.

"I didn't expect this to happen in daylight in front of traffic.

"I never experienced such hate crime before in my life. All my family were in shock."
