] US, UK neglecting Saudi war crimes, killing of journo: Analysts

The United States and the United Kingdom are ignoring Saudi Arabia’s war crimes in Yemen as well as the kingdom’s killing of a prominent journalist and dissident, says a commentator.

Hawzah News Agency - Scott Rickard, political analyst, said on Friday that since the United States President “Donald Trump has a long history of working with Saudi Arabia in financial dealings” and his advisors are pro-Riyadh, the White House will neglect the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi national journalist, who is believed to have been killed at the Saudi consulate in Turkey’s Istanbul upon an order from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on October 2.

“Trump’s advisorship is really steering the ship at this point and Trump is way over his head, he is drowning and he absolutely doesn’t know where to turn at this point,” Rickard said.

Meanwhile, Scott Bennett, political commentator, told Press TV also on Friday that the United States and the United Kingdom are supplying Saudi Arabia with arms, which are used to bomb the impoverished Yemen.

“This sale of weapons, which Donald Trump has raised the flag and glorified over in one respect, it is reflecting the dismal state of our humanity that we have no sensitivity to the realities of the lives that are crushed and destroyed by these weapons and the United States and the United Kingdom share that bloodlust,” Bennett noted.
