Teenage Palestinian resistance icon recounts ordeal to Press TV
A female Palestinian teenager, who endured an eight-month prison sentence for slapping Israeli security forces, has detailed her ordeal in an interview with Press TV.

Hawza News Agency (Occupied Palestine) - Ahed Tamimi, 17, said the Israelis had placed cuffs on her hands and feet "for hours".

"I endured a lot of hardship from the first moment of interrogations. The interrogators threatened me, saying they would harm my family members," Tamimi added.

"One interrogator even harassed me. He told me my hair was nice and comments like this. I didn’t have any of my family members with me during the interrogations, despite the fact that I’m a minor," she noted.

"I was kept in a very small cell with 10 others, and there were only six beds," the teenager added.

"I was not able to use the bathroom due to overcrowding, and girls were sleeping on the floor. We couldn’t move inside the cell. We couldn’t walk. The cells didn't have enough ventilation. Whenever I woke up, I felt unable to breathe," Tamimi said.

Tamimi was arrested last December after a video went viral showing her slapping and shoving two Israeli security forces, who were taking part in a raid on the village of Nabi Saleh, northwest of the city of Ramallah, in the West Bank.

She was then charged with a total of 12 counts, including assault, incitement, obstructing Israeli forces, and stone-throwing.

In March, she reached a plea bargain with Israeli military prosecution, according to which she was sentenced to eight months in prison and fined $1,500.

Released on July 29, Tamimi has vowed to continue the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation.

In the interview with Press TV, she reiterated her decision to fight for the cause of the Palestinian prisoners, many thousands of whom he said are kept in Israeli jails.
