Tun Abdul Aziz Mosque holds Chinese New Year open house to commemorate ۴۱st anniversary

A two-minute video posted on the mosque's Facebook page showed several Muslim ladies teaching non-Muslims how to wear a tudung (headscarf) at the hijab corner, as well as scenes of how Muslims perform their ablution before prayers..

Hawzah News Agency (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia)​- Tun Abdul Aziz Mosque holds Chinese New Year open house and Participants of various racial and religious backgrounds were also seen tossing yee sang at the Dato' Abdul Wabah Majid hall during the open house.

The celebrations were open to the local Muslim and non-Muslim community.

Other activities included a lucky draw, a mosque tour and an exhibition on the importance of community relations that focused on welfare, education and health.

The mosque also held a forum titled "Rich and successful Chinese" with Chinese Muslims academics Noraishah Chua and Muhd Fuad Yeoh as speakers.

The Tun Abdul Aziz mosque celebrated its anniversary this year over four days, from Feb 22-25, with a series of lectures by academics Datuk Dr Zaharuddin Abdul Rahman and Datuk Dr Abdul Basit Abd Rahman, and a community programme called "Chinese-versary".

The mosque is named after former Selangor Mentri Besar Tun Abdul Aziz Majid, and was known as Masjid Bulat when it was completed in 1977 because of its circular design.
