Sunni party advises Pakistan government to stay away from Saudi war on Yemen

Pir Aijaz Ahmed Hashmi, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), a Sunni party, has urged the Pakistan government to stay away from Saudi war on Yemen and suggested that Saudi monarchy should also not interfere into internal affairs of other countries.

Hawzah News Agency (Lahore, Pakistan) -Pir Aijaz Ahmed Hashmi, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), a Sunni party, has urged the Pakistan government to stay away from Saudi war on Yemen and suggested that Saudi monarchy should also not interfere into internal affairs of other countries.

Speaking at a gathering in Lahore, he said that the Saudi Arabia should have mediated between squabbling factions in Yemen instead of becoming part of a war on Yemen. He said that Saudi monarchy should put their own house in order and refrain from takfiri fatwas against Muslims and grant more religious freedoms.

Hashmi said that Pakistan government should remain impartial in the intra-Muslims disputes and play a mediating role instead of taking sides.

Sunni party leader lamented that historical archeological sites of Islam are being razed in Saudi Arabia.

He said that Saudi monarchy should not impose their sectarian ideology on other Muslims and respect the sanctity of scared places of Islam such as Jannat ul Baqi in Medina, Jannatul Ma’ala in Makkah, tree planted by Prophet of Islam, house of Hazrat Halima Saadia, and other mosques and shrines, etc.

End.
