Ayatollah al-Nabulsi: United Nations resolution, a slap in the face for Trump

Speaking at Friday prayers in the city of Sidon, Lebanon, Ayatollah Afif al-Nablusi remarked, “Once again, United Nations’ General Assembly slapped US president Donald Trump in the face.  The vast majority of countries overwhelmingly approved the resolution to deliver a big no to the recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

The cleric added, "This huge protest proves that US policies spread misery around the world. The US administration violates international law and supports usurper regimes. American politicians conspire against countries in order to sow discord and unrest; they openly interfere in the affairs of other countries."

"The issue of Jerusalem al-Quds is a sensitive one, however, the US is trying to illegitimately recognize it as the capital of Zionist Regime despite the fact that majority of countries warn them that al-Quds cannot be given away nor can be overlooked.

It’s noteworthy that the UN General Assembly adopted a draft resolution on Thursday against the recent decision of Trump to recognize the occupied al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime.
