Leader forgives sentences of 1007 prisoners

Leader forgives, commutes sentences of ۱۰۰۷ sentenced inmates

On the occasion of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and Imam Sadiq's (as) birth anniversaries, Leader has pardoned the sentences of 1007 prisoners.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - Leader of Islamic Revolution has pardoned and commuted the sentences of ۱۰۰۷ prisoners.

The clemency had been previously proposed by the head of the Judiciary Ayatollah Sadig Amoli Larijani on the occasions of Prophet Mohammamd and Imam Sadiq's (pbut) birth anniversaries.

It suggested for 1007 convicts of General and Revolutionary courts and also those of Judiciary Organization of the Armed Forces and State Discretionary Punishment Organization who had been identified having conditions which made them eligible for a state pardon or commutation, to which Iran's Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei agreed.
