Ayatollah Javadi Amoli

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli called Ka’bah the pivot of freedom and said, “If we are told to go perform Tawaf around a house that’s been called Atiq, it means we should get freed by performing Tawaf.”

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – On the occasion of Muharram 17th, the anniversary of the divine retribution falling upon Abraha’s army, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, a senior Shia cleric mentioned Abraha’s story and stated that God almighty protects and preserves the holy Ka’bah Himself. He interpreted some verses of Quran, saying, “God said, ‘Allah has made the Ka’bah, the sacred house, a maintenance for the people, and the sacred month and the offerings and the sacrificial animals with garlands.’ (Quran; 5:97). Allah (SWT) made Ka’bah the sacred house. There are many acts that are prohibited in Mecca, but allowed in everywhere else.”

His Eminence stressed that Divine tradition is still the same as before and said, “Now if the whole world joins forces to destroy the Ka’bah, undoubtedly the same story as Abraha’s, or a stronger retribution, will happen.”

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli also talked about the sanctity of Ka’bah and called this sacred house the pivot of freedom. The senior cleric explained, “Ka’bah is called Bayt Al_Atiq in Quran, Atiq means free, but free from what? It means this house has never been seized by any human being. No owner has ever been able to own Ka’bah and it has always been free.”

Ayatollah Javadi concluded, “If we are told to go perform Tawaf around a house that’s been called Atiq, it means we should get freed by performing Tawaf. If one goes around Ka’bah and comes back the same slave of desires that he was before, he has not performed Tawaf around Ka’bah, he’s just went around a house made of stone and mud.”

End.
