Ayat.Araki: Islamic Unity, Top Priority

Chairman of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) stressed Islamic unity as the most crucial priority for Muslim countries: "Takfiris breed "sectarianism and discord between Sunni and Shia Muslims, therefore, Muslim scholars must stay vigilant and inform people of these threats and conspiracies.

Hawzah News Agency (Sanandaj, Iran) – Speaking at a meeting attended by Shia and Sunni Friday Prayer Imams in the Iranian city of Sanandaj, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki referred to some Quranic verses highlighting the issue of Islamic unity and elaborated on their concepts as a key factor in today’s Islamic world.

The senior cleric then explained the ongoing activities of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools intended to strengthen the unity of Islamic Ummah; “The WFPIST has played a significant role in combating Takfirism and their sectarian plots.”

“Takfiris breed sectarianism and discord between Sunni and Shia Muslims; therefore, Muslim scholars must stay vigilant and inform people of these threats and conspiracies,” Ayatollah Araki concluded.
