"Imam Khomeini (ra) was the only leader in the world who introduced the concept of Islamic unity " said the cleric.

Hawzah News Agency (Beirut, Lebanon) – In a conference on the influence of the Iranian 1979 Islamic Revolution on Islamic Unity which was held in Lebanon's Beqaa Governorate, Shaykh Sahib al-Habli, a Lebanese Sunni cleric remarked, "Unity does not mean to reject other's notions and beliefs, rather it is about joining together and forming a unit to tackle the major issues that threaten the Islamic community."

He added," This is exactly what late Imam Khomeini (ra), the late founder of Iran's Islamic Revolution, devoted his life to. Imam Khomeini (ra) was the only leader in the world who introduced the concept of Islamic unity and to prove his doctrine, he shut down the Israeli embassy in Iran and replaced it with the Palestinian one right after the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution." Hawzah News quoted him as saying.

Shaykh Habli added, "Imam Khomeini's ra) motive was not to serve his own benefits, but to serve the interest of the whole Islamic Ummah; He is not the leader of Shia Muslims only, as he is regarded as the leader of all Muslims. Late Imam Khomeini was a humble leader; unlike the other world leaders, he continued to live in his old small house even after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution."
