Hujjat al-Islam Abolhasan Navvab

Dean of the University of Religions and Denominations in Qom urged Iran and the Arab world to restore their historic unity and cohesion based on Islamic civilization. “The solution to all these modern day problems is to return to original .Islamic and Quranic teachings."

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Hujjat al-Islam Abolhasan Navvab made some remarks in the international conference for Iran-Arab cultural talks which was held in the city of Qom on Saturday, January 21. He said, “Iran and Arab countries have been historic and cultural neighbors and their relations expanded following the advent of Islam in Hejaz.”

He added, “In order for the Iran-Arab dialogues to take place there’s no need for a mediator or shared background since the main basis for our dialogues would be Islam and the Holy Quran.”

Dean of the University of Religions and Denominations went on, “The Muslim Ummah used to be moderate people and this recent extremism has nothing to do with Islam. The fact that Islam has always invited followers of their faith to engage in peaceful dialogues proves the nature of Islam as a religion that values logical talks. It further suggests that intra-Islamic dialogues must be promoted as well.”

“The solution to all these modern day problems is to return to original Islamic and Quranic teachings; if we truly return to those original principles and initiate dialogues based on rationality and knowledge we will definitely succeed.”

Navvab concluded, “We are all members of the same religious family who share historic ties, it’s necessary to investigate the factors that breed discord within the Muslim community; the Iranian and Arab scholars play a key role in restoring the unity and cohesion within the Islamic world.”

End.
