Pir Aijaz Hashmi, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan

, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan has recognized the services of Shia Muslim pioneers of Pakistan Movement saying that Shia Muslims played a key role in creation of Pakistan.

Hawzah News Agency (Islam Abad, Pakistan) - Talking to the JUP media team, Pir Aijaz Hashmi said, dividing Sunni-Shia Muslims is dangerous for the Islamic Ummah and efforts must be made to bridge the gap between the two of them.

He lashed out at the Saudi-led military alliance and opposed the participation of Pakistan in that alliance. He also urged former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif (retired) to refuse to join the alliance.

Pir Hashmi said that Lebanese Hezbollah was a legitimate national resistance to Zionist occupation and labeling that movement as terrorists was unjustifiable and there must be no alliance with those countries who blame Hezbollah for terrorism. He said the Saudi-led alliance was formed against those countries that support Hezbollah hence we reject the anti-Palestinians alliance.

End.
