Haq Movement Warns Bahraini Authorities of Bloodshed

The Haq Movement for Liberty and Democracy warned the Bahraini authorities of "continuing the bloodshed", in reference to the circulated news about the authorities' intention to implement death sentences against 3 detainees accused of Al-Daih blast case.

Hawzah News Agency (Manama, Bahrain) -In a statement issued Saturday (January 14, 2017), the Haq movement said the death row detainees' confessions were extracted under torture, and called for demonstrations to be held in all parts of Bahrain, non-stop and without fear.

"Implementing the death sentences is a breakthrough for the bloodshed, overseen by King Hamad and his allies, especially the British. This crime, if God forbid was executed, its repercussions will not be limited to the people", the movement indicated, stressing that the reactions "would not exclude the regime and the interests of the states that are sponsoring and supporting it."

Security authorities had summoned today (Saturday January 14, 2017) the families of 3 death row detainees Abbas al-Samei, Sami Mushaima, and Ali al-Singace, accused of Al-Daih blast that killed an Emirati officer and two Pakistani policemen.

These summons caused serious concerns pertaining to the fate of the detainees, amid fears that authorities might implement their death sentences.

On January 9, 2017, the Court of Cassation upheld the death sentences. According to Bahraini laws, any upheld death sentence, which no longer becomes subject to appeal, shall not be executed before the approval of Bahrain King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
