Turkey Int’l Quran contest begins in Istanbul

The 6th edition of Turkey’s international Quran competition got underway in a ceremony in Istanbul on Sunday.

Hawzah News Agency (Istanbul, Turkey) – The city’s Fateh Mosque is hosting the Quranic event.

The competition is held in the categories of Quran recitation and memorization of the entire Quran.

The memorization contest is held every day from 12 to 15 pm and the reciters showcase their talents from 11 pm to 1 am.

There are 50 memorizers and 60 reciters from 60 countries attending the contest, which will run until May 30.

Iran’s representative in memorization is Mohammad Reza Ahmadi while Omid Hosseininejad is competing in recitation.
