Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - In a message to the 9th Allama Hilli convention that was held in Qom, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi made some remarks regarding the importance of understanding needs of the day by clerics and doing research in order to clear religious doubts.
His Eminence asserted, “Throughout the history, the great Shia scholars have always been pioneers in the arena of innovation, research and production of science.”
Ayatollah Makarem advised young seminary students to study works of the senior scholars of the past and urged them to try to understand the needs of the day, spread the noble teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (as) and answer the doubts created by opponents and enemies.
The revered source of emulation noted, “The authorities of seminary should do a precise and targeted planning to boost the spirit of research among the young seminary students, recognize the talents and support them in order to promote the atmosphere of scientific innovation in the Islamic seminary.”
