The new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Vatican, on the eve of his departure to the mission, met with the president and explained his plans.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican, on the eve of his departure to his mission, met with Hujjat al-Islam Raisi and explained the upcoming plans to expand and improve Iran’s cooperation with the Vatican.

In this meeting, the President stated,” Considering the 70-year history of bilateral relations, efforts should be made to develop and expand interfaith communication and dialogue, and by using the capacity of the Vatican as a base of Christianity we should fight against violent and extremist currents and anti-religious approaches in the world.”

He added,” holding joint dialogues and developing interactions between Iran's scientific and research centers, including the seminary and university, with the Vatican's scientific institutions and centers regarding the issues affecting our times and transferring the results of these discussions to different levels of society and adopting firm and transparent positions as experts are of great importance against the tyranny and anti-religious currents.”

Hujjat al-Islam Raisi emphasized establishing continuous communication and dialogues with the ambassadors of the Islamic countries present in the Vatican, each of whom is considered the scientific and political elite of those countries, and adopting a common position regarding the irrational, cruel and anti-religious events that occur in the world. At the same time, such cooperation helps to strengthen and deepen relations between Islamic countries and develop interactions between universities and Islamic centers.

Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari, the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Vatican, also explained his plans.
