Hawzah News Agency- Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi had a meeting with participants from Indonesia in the course of short-term training and study opportunities of Al-Mustafa International University, which was held in the office of the director of seminaries on Monday, November 27. During the meeting Ayatollah Arafi stated that the interactions between the elites of the two major Islamic countries Indonesia and Iran will be useful and effective in strengthening relations in all dimensions, and said,” In our view, Indonesia is an important player and a very effective center in all parts of the world including the Islamic world, this country with a large population has good capacities since it can take the path of further growth and excellence in order to play an effective role in the fundamental goals and ideals of Islam.”
The head of seminaries went on,” I thank the universities and the officials of Indonesia who vigorously supported the oppressed people of Gaza during the recent events in The Occupied Palestine.”
Referring to the recent developments in Gaza, Ayatollah Arafi said,” We have a clear doctrine on the issue of Palestine, which was expressed by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution. Our doctrine is based on free elections among free Palestinians, both Muslims and non-Muslims.”
He said,” If the Americans and Europeans accept the logic of freedom and the right to self-determination for nations, the way is through free elections, but if they do not accept it, the way is jihad and resistance, and the pioneers are Palestine and the Arab nations, whose territories have been occupied by the Zionists.”
Ayatollah Arafi added,” Our responsibility in the Islamic countries is to ban and embargo all Israeli goods in the first place and to close the Israeli embassies in Islamic countries in order to cut off diplomatic, commercial and economic ties, and we should support the Palestinian people in all aspects, all 57 Muslim countries in the world should have a united voice in international forums; if this action takes place, there will be no need for war and Israel will be defeated.”
Ayatollah Arafi concluded by saying,” It is a disgrace that there are governments in the Islamic world that not only did not cut off their relations with Israel but also expanded them during this war.”
