Hawzah News Agency- the presidents of some Indonesian universities had a meeting with the heads of the research institutes of Islamic Seminary and Iranian universities on Tuesday, November 21 during which they described Iran's progress in the fields of science and technology as unique and amazing, despite the cruel and unilateral sanctions against this country. The Indonesian academics emphasized the importance of role models. They also highlighted idolizing Iran in the advancement of science and technology programs and the development of Indonesia as an Islamic country.
In this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Baqer Saeedi Roshan, the head of Seminary Research Institute, while referring to the verses of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) regarding the relationship between religion, science and reason, did not consider the usefulness of Islamic science and civilization to be limited only to Muslim societies. He listed Islamic science for non-Muslim societies and human societies as one of the prominent features of Islamic sciences and stated,” Are the dominant currents of science, culture and civilization in the world beneficial science for humanity or is ignorance a part of this science, culture and civilization, which can be seen in Palestine and the open oppression of the children and people of Gaza.”
He added,” One of the main pillars of the scientific renaissance in the West was Islamic history, culture and civilization, and the basic question is why the Islamic world has distanced itself from the flourishing of Islamic science, culture and civilization between the eighth and fourteenth Islamic centuries, and how can it be brought back to its peak since the new Islamic civilization should be the flag-bearer in the world and human societies.”
The officials of Indonesian universities requested the Islamic Seminary Research Institute to cooperate with their universities in the form of conducting face-to-face and virtual training courses with the aim of strengthening the scientific richness and education of students specializing in Islamic philosophy, Islamic management, psychotherapy and Islamic counseling and Islamic education. The scientific delegation of Indonesia further requested publishing scientific books and resources in Indonesian language, giving study opportunities to professors, researchers and doctoral students and holding weekly and continuous specialized meetings and webinars and training professors of those universities to participate and cooperate with Iranian seminaries.
It should be noted that the international scientific interactions of Seminary Research Institute with Indonesia have also been active previously with the presence of professors, specialists and students of Indonesia in the research institute in the form of study opportunities, holding face-to-face and virtual training courses and specialized scientific meetings with the participation of the scientific faculty members of the research institute and Indonesia thinkers.
Signing a cooperation agreement between the Research Institute and the Center for Training and Development of Human Resources in Indonesia with the aim of training and educating specialists in the areas with scientific advantages of the Research Institute and holding the first specialized training course on the principles of psychotherapy with an Islamic approach for psychologists and counselors in Indonesia have been among these collaborations.
