New online platform celebrates 'Islamic Art'

The founders - who are artists themselves - saw a need for an online hub of cultural excellence which champions both the traditional styles of Islamic art, as well as its more modern counterparts, in front of a global audience.

Hawzah News Agency (London - UK) - A brand new online platform is bringing together artists from all over the world to sell prints of their most treasured collections.

Islamic art features paintings, embroidery, calligraphy and ceramics.

The founders - who are artists themselves - saw a need for an online hub of cultural excellence which champions both the traditional styles of Islamic art, as well as its more modern counterparts, in front of a global audience.

The portal also aims to provide its artists with a steady income – meaning they spend less time worrying about finances, and more time creating breathtaking art.

Adddionally, Islamic Art Prints have teamed up with a global network of printers in order to reduce the carbon footprint of global shipping.

The collective will be partnering with a global charitable organisation and a percentage of every single art print sold on the website will be used to help make art accessible to children who are living in crisis.

Siddiqa Juma, multi award-winning Islamic artist and co-founder of Islamic Art Prints explains: “Having worked as a professional artist for over a decade, I understand many of the concerns felt by emerging and established artists and wanted to provide a safe and fair environment for them to share their work.

"Our main purpose of this site is to celebrate the rich tradition of Islamic Art in its many beautiful forms in front of a global audience of art lovers, regardless of ethnicity, religion or gender.”

IslamicArtPrints.com has also launched The Islamic Art Prints (IAP) Academy.

This is a space for new and emerging artists, who have a specific interest or focus in Islamic Art, to begin their journey into the industry.

The group was created to support and encourage people with an interest in the creative arts to turn their hands to painting, calligraphy, sculpture, pottery - whichever craft they may be interested in, be it traditional or contemporary.

It can also be for those who already have a niche - to be able to provide mentors from the established global Islamic arts scene who can guide emerging talent as they try to break through into the world of professional art services through advice, seminars and constructive feedback.

The goal of The IAP Academy is to ultimately build a community or emerging talent that helps and supports each other along this journey.
