Algerian Researcher: Late Ayatollah Khamenei Was Living Voice of Islamic Unity, Defender of Oppressed

In a message offering condolences on the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Algerian researcher Noura Ferhat described the late leader as a towering figure who cemented Islamic unity, defense of Palestine, and support for the oppressed within the discourse of the Islamic Ummah.

Hawzah News Agency- Ferhat extended her condolences to all honorable people across the world following the martyrdom of Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"A great personality who carried the concerns of the Islamic Ummah on his shoulders and adopted Islamic unity as his school of thought," Ferhat stated, highlighting the esteemed position of the late leader. She noted that he transformed the issue of Al-Quds into a central cause and made defending the oppressed a continuous message.

While expressing that the Islamic Ummah is in mourning over this great tragedy, Ferhat remarked that the sorrow is accompanied by a sense of grandeur, as the late leader met his Lord at the altar of responsibility while guiding the affairs of the Ummah, always keeping the interests of the Iranian nation and the Islamic world in view.

Beyond a Political Leader

Ferhat emphasized that Ayatollah Khamenei was not merely a political leader or religious authority, but a living voice within the hearts of the Islamic Ummah, constantly reminding that the Ummah's strength lies in its unity and its weakness in division.

Discussing his perspectives on Islamic unity, she added that the late leader repeatedly stressed that Ummah unity is not a transient slogan but a civilizational necessity. "A fragmented Ummah cannot stand before great challenges or defend its destiny-shaping issues," Ferhat quoted, noting his consistent emphasis on transcending sectarian differences and clinging to the commonalities of the Islamic Ummah.

Palestine as a Central Cause

The Algerian researcher identified the Palestine issue as one of the most important axes of Ayatollah Khamenei's thought. "He always emphasized that Palestine is not merely the issue of one nation, but the issue of the entire Islamic Ummah, and defending it is a human, Islamic, and moral duty," she said.

Ferhat elaborated that standing against the oppression of the Israeli regime and defending the land and human dignity is not simply a political choice, but a moral stance rooted in Islamic values. "In this view, the issue of Al-Quds serves as a compass for distinguishing truth from falsehood," she added.

Martyrdom in Holy Month

Noting that Ayatollah Khamenei's martyrdom occurred during the holy month of Ramadhan, Ferhat described it as a continuation of the tradition of the Ummah's martyrs, evoking an atmosphere filled with spirituality, patience, and jihad—a path that transforms martyrdom into a guiding light for the Ummah in defending its causes.

She observed that the late leader was martyred while at the helm of a great nation with robust institutions and a mighty people, with millions in Iran and beyond taking to the streets to express grief and loyalty to his ideals.

"The Imam of the Ummah was martyred at a time when a regional power had been formed, backed by millions of people with a spirit of uprising, resistance, and intifada," Ferhat stated. "This legacy is not merely intellectual and spiritual but possesses powerful material and political dimensions as well."

A Living Legacy

In her concluding remarks, Ferhat emphasized that speaking of the martyr Khamenei is essentially speaking of an intellectual project for building the Islamic Ummah, founded on three principles: unity of the Ummah, adherence to just causes, and nurturing the faithful human being.

"Therefore, remembering these positions is not merely to honor him, but must transform into daily conduct so that the spirit of sacrifice, defense of truth, and safeguarding of human dignity remain alive among the Islamic Ummah," she affirmed.
