Indian Seminary Leaders Declare Strong Support for Ayatollah Khamenei, Condemn US Actions in Region

A major body representing senior administrators of Islamic seminaries in India has issued a statement voicing firm support for Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and strongly condemning recent US actions and threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hawzah News Agency- In an official declaration, the Assembly of Indian Hawza (seminary) Administrators denounced the escalating hostile measures and military signaling by the United States and some of its allies, warning that such moves increase regional tensions and endanger international peace and stability.

The statement expressed “comprehensive and unequivocal support” for Ayatollah Khamenei, describing him as a symbol of religious wisdom, responsible leadership, and legitimate resistance against domination and unilateralism.

Warning Against Threats and Coercive Policies

The assembly said recent US conduct — including military pressure, security threats, and hostile rhetoric — stands in contradiction to established principles of international law and the UN Charter, particularly the prohibition on the use or threat of force against sovereign states.

It characterized any explicit or implicit threat against a senior religious authority and leader of the Muslim world as unlawful and dangerous, adding that such behavior would amount to state-sponsored intimidation and a violation of both legal and moral norms. The group said such threats also risk provoking widespread outrage among Muslim communities worldwide.

According to the statement, coercive security strategies, sanctions pressure, and military posturing have historically produced instability rather than security, especially across West Asia. It added that these approaches have contributed to conflict expansion and humanitarian crises instead of conflict resolution.

Affirmation of Iran’s Sovereignty and Right of Defense

The Indian seminary body reaffirmed its support for Iran’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence, stressing that the country retains the legitimate right to self-defense under international law in the face of external threats or aggression.

It said recent US military movements lack legitimate defensive justification and could qualify as unlawful acts of aggression if escalated further.

The statement framed its position as rooted in religious responsibility, legal reasoning, and ethical duty, saying silence in the face of intimidation and destabilization is not acceptable for religious institutions committed to justice and human dignity.

Call for International Accountability

The assembly called on international institutions — including the United Nations, the Security Council, and global human rights bodies — to fulfill their legal and moral obligations by addressing threats of force and violations of international norms. It urged multilateral organizations not to remain passive in the face of rising tensions that could trigger broader regional crises.

It emphasized that sustainable de-escalation can only be achieved through dialogue based on mutual respect, adherence to law, rejection of unilateral pressure, and strengthening of fair multilateral frameworks.

Religious Institutions Back Just Peace

The group said Islamic seminaries have historically supported just peace, national independence, and resistance to oppression, adding that their stance is consistent with a long-standing scholarly tradition of opposing injustice and foreign domination.

The statement concluded by expressing confidence that aggressive adventurism and coercive policies ultimately fail, while lawful resistance and national unity endure.
