Pakistan Muslim Unity Council Head Urges Islamabad to Take Firm Stand Against US Threats to Iran

Islamabad, Pakistan – Senator Raja Nasser Abbas Jafari, head of the Pakistan Muslim Unity Council, has called on the Pakistani government to adopt a clear and decisive stance in response to threats by US President Donald Trump against Iran. He criticized Islamabad’s cautious approach, stressing that silence in the current sensitive international environment undermines Pakistan’s national interests.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking in the Senate, Senator Jafari questioned the legitimacy of unilateral foreign interference, asking, “Who granted Donald Trump the authority to decide the future of nations?” He emphasized that neither law, moral principle, nor international norms permit such aggressive behavior.

Senator Jafari warned that passive diplomacy or muted responses at a time of mounting global tension could weaken Pakistan’s regional credibility. He urged the government to assume a leadership role by convening an urgent summit of neighboring countries to reinforce the principles of peace, sovereignty, and mutual respect.

Rejecting the notion that “coercion, threats, and aggression” can solve international crises, he stressed that today’s world requires wise and principled leadership rather than leaders intoxicated by power.

He also condemned what he described as “false propaganda” by Western media targeting Iran and called on Pakistani journalists to prioritize fact-based reporting over uncritical reliance on foreign sources.

Highlighting the need for rational diplomacy, Senator Jafari concluded: “The international community must promote dialogue, law, and reason rather than threats and force. This is the only path to sustainable peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.”
