Hawzah News Agency- Sunni scholar Mamousta Mohammad Amin Rasti, the interim Friday imam of Sanandaj city in Iran had an interview with Hawzah News in Kurdistan province during which he stated,” Imam Hussain (PBUH) and Karbala movement does not belong only to a specific person, religion or Islamic sect.”

Sanandaj temporary Friday imam said,” Ashura movement belongs to all freedom seekers in the world. Ashura serves as the University of Freedom against tyranny; Therefore Imam Hussain (PBUH) is the professor of this global university.”

The Sunni scholar continued,” In the Ashura uprising, many heresies that led to the deviation of the Islam were destroyed, so the uprising of Imam Hussein (PBUH) is an important chapter in the history of Islam.”

Mamousta Rasti further noted, “Today, in order to confront and win against the enemies of Islam, we need Hussaini thinking and movement, and our view towards the present world should be on the path of Ashura movement.”

Emphasizing that the uprising of Imam Hussain (PBUH) taught us to fight oppression, he said,” Whoever studies in the school of Imam Hussain (PBUH) will never bow to the tyrants and enemies of Islam.”

Interim Friday Prayer Imam of Sanandaj city further said,” Nevertheless, after more than 14 centuries since the Ashura uprising and the revolution that Imam Hussain (PBUH) carried out, today some movements are trying with all their might to dilute, distort and marginalize the Ashura culture.”

Mamousta Rasti concluded by saying that Imam Hussain (PBUH) is a unique role model to strengthen the anti-arrogance and anti-colonial spirit of all Muslims in the world, including both Shia and Sunni Muslims.”
