Hawzah News Agency- Sunni scholar Mamousta Mohammad Amin Rasti said in the ethics course of Sunni students in Sanandaj city of Iran that Ashura movement marks a big event in the history of Islam which completely transformed the fate of this religion.

Interim Imam of Sanandaj Friday Prayer said, “Ashura movement was launched to save Islam from being courted by the caliphs of that time.”

This Sunni scholar emphasized that studying and analyzing the events of the Karbala movement is necessary to clarify many facts regarding Islam.

Mamousta Rostami went on to say that first, the causes of the Ashura movement must be determined for the younger generation, because if this is not done, this great event of the Islamic world will be distorted by Islam adversaries.

Interim Friday Imam of Sanandaj further noted, “Some people including historians have personal comments about Ashura and the uprising of Imam Hussain (PBUH), which can cause great damage to the facts of the uprising of the son of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) against the oppression of the caliphate.”

He pointed out that elaborating the causes and factors which led to the Karbala movement is one of the most important tasks that Muslim scholars, clerics and theologians should pay special attention to it.
