Turkish Academics visit Al Mustafa

A group of professors and faculty members of Turkish universities have traveled to the Islamic Republic of Iran to meet with scientific personalities and they had a meeting with President of Al-Mustafa International University in Qom.

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al Islam Abbasi, President of Al-Mustafa University, welcomed the professors of Turkish universities in Qom on Sunday , May 22 and introduced Al-Mustafa University and the scientific disciplines and characteristics of this institution and said, Teaching Islamic religions and accepting the followers of Islamic religions is one of the important features of Al-Mustafa University. In Golestan province of Iran, for instance, there is a special unit for our Sunni brothers and sisters of different nationalities and students of Islamic courses and humanities are trained based on the jurisprudence, theology and interpretation of their own religion. Examples of this sort of educational system are rarely seen in similar centers around the world.

Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi went on to say, "This approach is not limited to the country and in many branches of Al-Mustafa University abroad, such as Indonesia, Congo, Afghanistan, Ghana, etc., Sunni scholars have studied Islamic sciences along with followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) school of though."

President of Al-Mustafa International University highlighted the importance of communication and dialogue between scholars of Islamic countries and added, "The enemies of Islamic dignity and civilization are trying to stir up differences and conflicts between Islamic countries and followers of Islamic religions in order to disrupt the unity of Muslim world."

In present world, there are centers that try to create discord, hatred and enmity among Islamic religions, and to achieve this target they support and create takfiri movements, Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi added.

He continued, "Some of the people who stir up these differences may be unaware, but out of ignorance, they have become a factor in advancing the divisive goals in the Islamic world." Some of these people are willing to accompany and befriend the enemies of the Islamic Community, at the cost of expelling the followers of some Islamic religions from the Muslim Community. You know well how much this view, especially in the last decade, has harmed the Muslim Community, and we still suffer from the effects of the wars waged by extremist and takfiri movements.

The Shia cleric, referring to the strategy of Al-Mustafa University in this regard, further noted, the policy of Al-Mustafa University is the same as the official policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran which is to boost unity, brotherhood and dialogue between Islamic religions in order to create peace and harmony within the Islamic world.

The Turkish professors present at the meeting, expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and hoped that the fields of cooperation between Iran and Turkey in various scientific fields will be developed more than before.
