Hawzah News Agency- The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatima (PBUH) in Qom ‎ Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Saeedi had a meeting with the professors and instructors of the sister universities and seminaries from Kurdistan province of Iran on Saturday , May 21 in Qom.

The meeting took place in the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatima Masuma during which Ayatollah Saeedi highlighted the importance of Islamic unity and urged activities to promote unity among Islamic sects.

Ayatollah Saeedi, pointing out that the enemy, especially the Britain, seek to create discord and hatred between Shia and Sunni Muslims added, “The manners and methods of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) in dealing with followers of other faiths were such that they would become interested to Islam and Islamic values; For instance, Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH) would host the followers of other religions in his Islamic school so that they could also use the Imam's teachings. Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH) would treat Muslims of different sects with respect, participate in their congregational prayers and he would attend their funerals and visit them in times of illness.

Custodian of Lady Masuma Shrine further noted that the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasizes on maximum unity and minimum division among Islamic sects and said, “One should attract people with his kind words and behavior rather than causing disagreement and division since such behavior is not according to Islamic values. As we can see today the Islamic world is witnessing the fateful results of creating sectarianism among different sects and faiths, therefore we must enhance the efforts to boost Islamic unity.
