Grand Ayatollah Shubairi

Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani said in a meeting, Islam needs knowledgeable scholars and the Muslim community turns to these scholars to ask their religious inquiries rather than to scientific books. Just as an ill person seeks cure from a professional physician, rather than the medical books. Therefore, the seminary community should seek to train and introduce scholars who meet the needs of their community.

Hawzah News Agency- Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani, Shia source of emulation, met with members of late Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi's family who were present in his office to express their condolences on Friday, May 20.

Shia jurist Grand Ayatollah Shubairi expressed his concern over the lack of scientific developments in seminary sciences and said, Various sciences have progressed, seminaries should also pay due attention to seminary sciences, especially jurisprudence and Islamic principles, which are considered necessary and vital for the seminary, in order to witness better progress and development in this field.

This source of emulation further state, Religion needs knowledgeable scholars and the Muslim community turns to these scholars to ask their religious inquiries not to scientific books. Just as an ill person seeks cure from a physician, not from the medical books. Therefore, our seminary community should seek to train and introduce scholars who meet the needs of their community.

Grand Ayatollah Shubairi Zanjani went on to say, One of the outstanding features of the late Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi was that he was interested in attracting talented people to the seminary and supporting talented students. Sometimes when scholars came from different cities to meet late Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi, if he noticed that the cleric was talented, he would ask him to stay in Qom in order to study Islamic sciences. If there was someone among the students who was talented and wanted to leave the seminary of Qom, he would personally ask him to stay in the seminary and try to support that student.

Grand Ayatollah Shubairi highlighted paying attention to learning science and striving to acquire moral virtues as two prominent features of Shia scholars in the past ages and said, many of our scholars were passionate about acquiring knowledge and this love for education had continued until even the last moments of their lives. At the end of the meeting, The Shia source of emulation advised seminary students to never give up learning science and participating in scientific discussions.
