Hawzah News Agency –Iran has always been under threat since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, said Malek Rahmati, deputy custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, adding, “This culminated in the eight-year Iraqi imposed war. Yet, solid faith, sacrifice, and the culture of martyrdom among people, coupled with Imam Khomeini’s astuteness and the lofty standing of Velayat-e Faqih have rendered the enemies’ military plots null and void”.

Speaking in the opening ceremony of a meeting dubbed “crisis management and passive defense in the holy shrines” Rahmati referred to cultural invasion as one of the ways enemies resort to, noting that “there is a full-blown cultural war waged against the country, which is averted thanks to the Islamic culture”.

The official maintained that the youth have never ceased to participate in different social and cultural arenas ever since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. “The global arrogance has to fight a cultural mentality deeply rooted in our society, which Iranians eminently demonstrated to the world during the funeral ceremony of Lt. General Soleimani”.

He added that once the global arrogance fell short of infiltrating the country through military machinations, it would resort to novel means of cyber and biologic attacks to disrupt people’s lives and create discontent.

“The Leader of the Revolution has always stressed on passive defense”, Rahmati continued, saying that, besides boosting the military capacities, it was imperative to neutralize enemies’ non-military and soft war plots through passive defense.

Further in his remarks, AQR’s deputy custodian expanded on the gravity of passive defense in the holy shrines as they attract huge number of pilgrims from across the globe, making these places prime target for the enemies. Therefore, “Imam Reza holy shrine has always attached great significance to passive defense as emphasized by the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi,” the body in charge of the holy shrine.
