Safety of pilgrims priority of AQR: Chief custodian

Maintaining safety of all Razavi pilgrims is one of the first priorities of Astan Quds Razavi, said Hoj. Ahmad Marvi AQR chief custodian in a meeting with the personnel of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s fire station.

Appreciating endeavors of the fire brigades in Razavi complex, Marvi said: “Firefighting is as important as body inspection of pilgrims and these are two complementary measures for safety and security of the pilgrimage.”

Referring to the importance of having foresight in prevention of accidents, AQR custodian stated: “We should not allow bad things to happen because of shortcomings in facilities, equipment or human power and then want to go to eliminate the problems incurred”.

Hoj. Marvi also pointed to the attendance of millions of pilgrims in Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in various national and religious occasions throughout the year, saying: “Thanks to the blessed presence of Imam Reza (AS) and great endeavors of safety and security personnel of the complex, there has been no accident in the shrine up to now; we have to keep ourselves ready to encounter the worst and most difficult situation, however”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the one million square meter vastness of the shrine and its high pilgrim density in different occasions and said that the complex has to create several other equipped fire stations.

He also gave importance to the teaching of firefighting principles to the personnel and servants of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine adding that firefighting teams of the holy shrine have to be in their highest level of readiness by conducting regular operational maneuvers and using up-to-date rescue and firefighting equipment.

The meeting came to end by Hoj. Marvi’s appreciation of the personnel and issuing some orders for settling their problems.
