Hawzah News Agency ( Mashhad - Iran) - More films and TV series must be produced to cover Imam Reza’s (AS) teachings as today’s society and young generation need various teachings by him.
Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said the above in a meeting with IRIB senior managers.
Referring to a tradition of Imam Reza (AS) saying, “If people understand our words, they will follow us”, Hoj. Marvi said: “Blessed and illuminated presence of Imam Reza (AS) and great treasury of his words can highly affect nature of people.
“If there is any distance between people and the Infallible Imams’ words, it is because of our weakness in conveying their words”.
Marvi introduced cultural and knowledge-based activities as pivotal measures by AQR. The main goal of AQR is to conduct cultural activities and to upgrade pilgrims’ religious knowledge”.
He further noted: “We have designated Imam Reza’s (AS) speech saying: May God has mercy on the person who keeps our words alive as our main motto and axis of activities. We have extended our hand toward media, art and expected activists to fulfill this goal as well”.
Stating that rendering service to Imam Reza (AS) is not limited to wearing servant uniform only, the chief custodian of AQR said: “Whoever takes steps to fulfill Razavi teachings in the society is a servant of Imam Reza (AS), therefore, I ask IRIB officials to consider themselves as servants of this Imam”.
He also asked all the media activists to consider themselves as owners of AQR and do not be indifferent toward organization’s affairs. “The original owner of the shrine is Hazrat Reza (AS) himself and we are all servants”.
Necessity of using art to publicize Islamic teachings
Elsewhere in his remarks, AQR chief custodian emphasized on the importance of using art for publicizing Islamic teachings. “IRIB has to project religious teachings based on its own formats and through attractive artistic models”.
Pointing to the impact of art performances in conveying effective Islamic teachings, he said that AQR has organized some theaters covering Imam Reza’s (AS) teachings in areas around the shrine.
Art an appropriate way to convey religious concepts
Marvi complained about limited number of movies, TV series, and animation productions on Imam Reza (AS), saying: “A great part of Imam Reza (AS) teachings and lifestyle has been ignored; many different teachings and debates of the Imam are needed these days and they must be offered in an attractive way”.
He went on to say: “Many movies have to be produced on Imam Reza (AS). Some works have been done but they are not enough. Impact of the eighth Imam (AS) on architecture, civilization and art of Iran can be main topics for future productions”.
IRIB effective role in expanding culture of donation
The chief custodian of AQR also referred to the role of IRIB in developing culture of donation and endowment: “IRIB can play a decisive role in promoting the culture of donation and endowment through taking rudimentary measures and elaboration of services”.
Hoj. Marvi introduced AQR supports in various natural disasters of the country in recent years as a proof that the organization is not after economic benefit. “The more endowments and donations by the people, the more will come supports of these kinds in the name of Imam Reza (AS) from across the country”.
