US sanctions against Iran is unfair

From the very beginning, the Dialogue of Civilizations has stood for support of multilateral worldviews, recognized the natural diversity of civilizations and their equality.

Hawzah News Agency - (Moscow - Russia) - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Research Institute of Moscow, responding to a letter sent by Chairman of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Mr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkaman, while describing the sanctions imposed by the US government against Islamic Republic of Iran as wrong and unfair, has said I have deep sympathy for people of Iran and I am a firm believer that these kinds of sanctions and other artificial political barriers are wrong.

According to Public Relations Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the letter of Dr. Veladimi Yakunin to Mr. Turkaman is as follow:

From the very beginning, the Dialogue of Civilizations has stood for support of multilateral worldviews, recognized the natural diversity of civilizations and their equality. This attitude has enabled the taking of steps towards a coherent world picture with no ideological bias, which, in our opinion, is absolutely necessary for the further development of humanity.

I have deep sympathy for the people of Iran, and on a personal level I greatly admire you and appreciate our years of fruitful cooperation. I am a firm believer that these kinds of sanctions and other artificial political barriers are wrong, and particularly as the world faces a potential humanitarian crisis the likes of which we have not seen for many decades. This is a time, like never before, when politics and ideology must give way to the core interests and needs of humanity. We also value the greater role of public forums and research organizations in international policy-making processes, which present a more human-centered dimension driven by values based decisions, throughout which the diversity of civilizational, cultural, traditional, and governmental instruments will be promoted among all countries.

I plan a number of public talks and interviews with major international media over the coming weeks and will certainly be referencing the particular case that you highlighted, as an example of human injustice. I very much hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well in the meantime,

to the extent possible in this challenging time. And I very much look forward to seeing you again in person when circumstances allow.

Mr. Turkaman recently in a letter to world religious leader asking their support for campaign against cruel sanctions and putting pressures and imposing restrictions against our country.

Dr. Vladimir Yakunin is Chairman of the Supervisory Board, DOC Research Institute Head of the State Governance Department, Faculty of Political Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University and visiting Professor, Peking University and hold PhD in Political Science. He also has a number of several state honorary medallions.
