Eight professor from the Indian Subcontinent have called for lifting of sections against Iran

Hawzah News Agency (New Delhi - India) - Eight prominent Indian poets, university professors and writers in a letter to UN Secretary General have called for lifting of sanctions imposed against Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Public Relation Department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organizations (ICRO), Iranian Cultural Attache to India, Alireza Ghazve said the institutive taken by the Indian scholars in defense of Iran is a valuable undertaking and thanked them for their humanitarian gesture..

The letter to UN Secretary General has been signed by prominent figures Dr. Soroish Tripati, Dr. Bloram Shakla, Professor Mahmoud Alam, Dr. Nasreh Sharma, Dr. Fatemeh Belqis Hosseini, Mohammad Javad Askari, Ali Kamil Ghezelbash, and Dr. Rajish Sarkar.

Each of the said scholars in the single letter have expressed their views about the cruel sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic of Iran and have said that now that the world in desperately fighting the deadly Coronavirus, it is the best time the honorable Secretary General of the United Nations to work for lifting of the sanctions against the country. They have added that Iran during the past 40 years has been subject to continuous sanctions and has endured lots of problems and now it is time to try to bring an end the unjustified and crippling sanctions.

The letter stresses that lifting of sanctions will improve the wellbeing of Iranian people and boost their efforts aimed at containing the further spread of the virus.

 The Indian scholars referring to historical ties between Iran and India have said we as Indian writers and university professors expect the UN Secretary General to take necessary step and mediate the end of the sanctions that have caused considerable hardship to Iranian people.
