Imam Reza holy shrine a hub for charity activities of Razavi servants during Ramadan: Chief custodian

Addressing a group of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s servants active in the charity activities, Hoj. Marvi referred to the outbreak of the Covid-19 in Iran and abroad, saying: “The Coronavirus has provided us with a unique opportunity for showing altruism alongside all its sorrows and hardships. God creates many different opportunities to test his creatures. Covid-19 can be one of these opportunities”.

Hawzah News Agency (Mashhad - Iran) - To realize “faithful service” campaign ordered by Ayatollah Khamenei, Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s Imam Khomeini Portico will be given to the Razavi servants to conduct charity activities during the holy month of Ramadan, said Hoj. Ahmad Marvi chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi.

Reminding current hardships in the society because of shutdown of almost all businesses in the country, he said: “Some people have been poor since the past, but some others are respectable families who have become needy during this pandemic. Some of these people are seasonal workers, for example, who have become jobless as result of the virus outbreak”.

The chief custodian of AQR pointed to an order by the Leader as the main reason behind holding the meeting and added: “Each of you is in direct touch with different organizations with the help of which you can serve people during Ramadan”.

Marvi said: “This year we are deprived of many different feeding and religious gatherings usually held inside Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine and other mosques in the city. The situation is totally different this year; the devotional and religious programs will not be cancelled, however. Ceremonies of this kind will be held in a different form”

Hoj Marvi further noted: “Praying and supplication ceremonies are not going to be cancelled. Praying is not limited to the common religious practices every Muslim usually does; rather, doing any good job is a kind of worship by itself.”

“AQR does its best to keep God’s remembrance alive in immaculate Imam’s (AS) house. I, therefore, suggest you, Razavi servants, to take control of Imam Khomeini (RA) Portico during all 30 days of Ramadan and do whatever good deeds you like to do with the support of AQR,” he assured.

Hoj. Marvi also stated: “Do encourage others to the good deeds and open ways of this kind to other people. Do not set conditions for others in these charity activities and let them participate in any way they please”.

The chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi concluded his remarks, saying: “If you do not afford self-sponsored charity activities, do whatever you can. Enjoy your social credibility. If you find one way closed, try other ones”.
